Curriculum Intent Statement
The aim of Winstanley Community Primary School is to provide opportunities for children to develop as independent, confident, successful learners with high aspirations who know how to make a positive contribution to their community and the wider society. There is a strong focus on developing children’s spiritual, moral, social and cultural understanding.
The school’s focus on curriculum development has been carefully designed to ensure coverage and progression. It provides pupils with a range of memorable experiences and incorporates our school values of kindness, teamwork, friendship, trust, resilience, respect, courage and ambition. Our cross-curricular approach enables our children to make meaningful links with their learning.
The primary focus of our curriculum intent is to develop a rich vocabulary and a deep body of knowledge to be able to perform skills and make progress. The well-being and mental health of pupils is also a fundamental part of our curriculum to support the development of the whole child. Weaved seamlessly throughout school is a developing growth mindset with an aspiration to be the best version of yourself.
